Learner context, governed

The neutral context layer for personalized learning

Learning systems know what a student is doing.
BinaTa helps them understand the learner behind it.

BinaTa builds a governed, neutral learner context profile that brings together relevant educational evidence, needs and support history, so educators and learning systems can adapt with better context.

Built for the systems learners already use. Governed by the institutions responsible for them.

The problem

Personalization is becoming more powerful. Learner context is still fragmented.

Students move across learning platforms, assessments, teachers and educational environments. Each system sees only part of the learner.

A learning platformmay know what a student submitted.
An assessment platformknows how they performed.
A schoolholds reports, observations and support history.

But the context that helps explain what this learner needs rarely travels with them.

So every system starts again.

What BinaTa does

One governed learner context.
Owned by no single platform.

BinaTa brings authorised educational information together into a governed learner context profile. It helps institutions:

01

Bring context together

Connect relevant information that currently sits across documents, people and systems.

02

Turn information into usable context

Organise learner needs, support history and relevant educational evidence into a structured profile.

03

Share only what's needed

Provide role- and purpose-appropriate context rather than exposing the learner's entire record.

04

Keep context current

Allow the profile to stay current as new evidence and professional decisions are recorded.

05

Connect with existing systems

Make authorised learner context available to the educational tools already in use.

The learning system remains the learning system. BinaTa provides the context it needs to respond appropriately.

This only works if the layer belongs to no one platform. If a single provider owned the shared context, the others would have little reason to contribute to it, and the learner's continuity would depend on whichever product they happened to be using.

Why now

AI makes learner context more important, not less.

AI-powered learning systems can increasingly generate explanations, feedback, activities and adaptive experiences. But their usefulness depends on the context available to them.

Without reliable learner context, personalization is often limited to what a single application can observe.

BinaTa is being built for a world in which educational AI can become more personalized without requiring every application to independently reconstruct who the learner is.

Who it's for

Built for an ecosystem, not another silo

Learning & AI platforms

Use authorised learner context to make existing learning experiences more relevant, without rebuilding a picture of the learner from scratch.

Schools & education networks

Hold and govern learner context across people, evidence and time, and decide which systems may use it, and for what.

About

Built at the intersection of education and technology

BinaTa was founded from firsthand experience with one of education's hardest problems: important knowledge about learners exists, but it is fragmented across people, documents, processes and systems.

We are building what is needed to make that context usable: responsibly, securely, and with educators remaining in control.
